Thank you everyone!

Wanderlost, I really like what you said about treating your CF individually rather than comparatively! I have looked at CF this way since my daughters were babies, in every way but this one!!! It has been a constant struggle with the CF clinic to avoid the generalizing "this is what we do with all of our patients."

We had a "doom and gloom" doctor back then, and I refused to let him treat my girls when my youngest was born. I don't know why I believed what he told me about pregnancy and CF.

Thank you again. This forum is great!

Well, he probably just didn't know - Cf moms are still new enough that a lot of MDs don't have the slightest and lke to err of the side of (extreme) caution - just read through this pregnancy forum at what some moms are being told (and then what really happened once baby came).

Just inform yourself to the teeth with info so you are always prepared with an answer when dealing with this stuff - and when your girls are ready to start thinking marriage. pregnancy, etc. have them get super informed as well- I never let my doc be the one to inform me - instead, I use his knowledge as a supplement or sounding board against my own research (not to say he doesn't know about stuff that I don't, but usually when I visit clinic I have an agenda) - 9 out of 10 times, even though my ideas or treatment options might not be the typical medical protocol, my docs are supportive because they realize I know what I am talking about.
