Thanks for sharing your story with us. I'm sure it was an amazing experience (although it didn't go exactly as planned). That happens sometimes though and at least you both came through it healthy and happy. CONGRATULATIONS! Hopefully you get yourselves in a routine soon because it's hard having a newborn, that's for sure!

What a happy ending to a hard few days...and weeks! Congratulations and I'm glad CF didn't really get in the way! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I am sorry that it didn't go as smoothly as you would have liked. Hope you can get some good sleep now.

Do you have family help at all?

Bonnnie-thanks for sharing. I too partake in your view of "hey, it might not have been what I 'pictured' but this is definately what I wanted in the end and worth every second"! I foudn breastfeeding amazingly wonderful and rewarding and I look at it like if I had to have one thing or other go badly glad it was the birth and not BF! Take care of that wonderful baby and hubby--but dont forget yourself!

Although we have family around we chose to take care of her ourself and it is so much better in my opinion if you can because then you can get your rhythms, communications etc down, it is more calm and relaxing for the family bonding time and you can form your own opinions without others giving you 'ideas' when you are so easily persuaded as a new parent.

Two books I recommend are the wonanly art of breastfeeding and Nighttime parenting by dr. sears and if you are going back to work then Milk memos which is about pumping adn working--very funny but helps you along!

Take care and best of luck!
