Like Heather said, sometimes this is normal behavior, but sometimes, with some kids, it is an early sign of infection. It might also be reflux, which has a high incidence in CFers, too. These are all issues you can discuss with your clinic and see what they think.

We can often predict a coming infection or sinus trouble with my youngest because the appetite drops. Many CFers get sinus issues, and when it is the change of seasons, that can mean lots of extra goo draining into the stomach. Our youngest went through a period where we could not get her to eat in the mornings; her stomach was upset because of sinuses. She had sinus surgery a few months ago, and her appetite is much better.

With DS it was sometimes a sign that he had an ear infection -- no other symptoms. Or that he was constipated. Or teething... And then other times to totally drive me bonkers he just went thru a phase of not wanting to eat much at all.

Grayson is 9 months and she is a very picky eater also. Even if she sees a spoon coming toward her she will start gagging and even throw up. It is hard to get her to take her enzemes. I don't know if this is part of her CF but we don't think so because one of the twins with no CF did this also. She will feed herself finger foods but forget about the spoon. Thank God she has a G-tube so we aren't to worried about the calories as much. It does make you very creative with giving enzemes though. This kind of phase lasted for over 3yrs with the one twin. I could swear that she could throw up just thinking about food.
