I already posted in adult forum. Endocrinologist has had us checking my dd blood sugar levels since yesterday. She had one slightly high yesterday two hrs after breakfast 132 and one high today two hrs after lunch 164. I had her play outside for a little while and took it again it was 147 three hrs after lunch with nothing to eat and sugar free drink.
Any thoughts or advice?

Those #s are definitely consistent with CFRD.

It's a good thing you have caught it - treating will help her have a better prognosis and lifespan

I wish I had better news for you. But truly, she will be healthier for the early diagnosis. SO many CFer's go undiagnosed for years on end, and their lungs pay such a high price. Your little one won't have such a struggle....

They've been good! Endocrinologist called and said she needs to have the oral glucose tolerance test to check for cfrd. She said her levels weren't bad enough that she needs to come in right away. She has the test on Friday.
Have you had this test? If so what were your results?
Thanks for your help!

Yup, I've had the test 1/year for the past 10 years.

And it missed my diabetes. I got a false negative from the oGTT.

It wasn't until I did a 2 week diary of my sugars that we saw how things really were.

My endo aptly described the difference like this - the OGTT is simply a snapshot of your pancreas is working at that very point in time. The 2 week diary shows the true changes in a CF pancreas.

LIke you said, you saw 130s one day with your DD, and then 160s another day. The OGTT won't capture these variations. The pancreas can decide to release a little bit more insulin on one day, but not another. Doesn't mean you don't have CFRD - those higher #s still do damage regardless of what the OGTT says.

Sounds like you're doing a great job tracking those sugars. I hope you will continue <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I checked her 1.5 hrs after lunch and it was 140.
That makes me worried about the OGTT!! It seems like she always falls into the grey area!!
I'm going to try OGTT at home. I will have to find something similar to glucose drink. Our pediatrician is concerned about the high levels and wants me to continue to monitor her.
