<P>You will need a syringe to draw out the hypertonic saline.....then you must keep bag in fridge after punctured and throw out after<STRONG> <U>one week</U></STRONG> and start new bag....st. mikes has been doing it for this way for years...each time you access the bag you will wipe end with alchol and use new syringe and deposit into neb cup...</P>

<P>No my dr. has not given me a script for 7%....I will see her Aug.30th and tell her I want to try it.....but I know what she ll say...NO Difference....and more irritating and I do have to be careful as I do have occassional hemoptysis......</P>

On amazon that is .9 %  ....NOT 9 %....It is NOT hypertonic saline......unless you need it for somthing else ....its extremely weak...I add 1ml of .9 to amikacin inhalation.

If you're not able to get it from Foundation Care Pharmacy, you might see if you can get it the way I do. I'm not really sure why my pharmacy doesn't order the pre-mixed stuff for me, actually. They get me vials of 14% (to be exact, it's 14.6 or something like that) saline which are made to be diluted for IV use. As well, they get me little vials of sterile water. I draw up 2 units of each in a syringe and put it in my nebulizer cup. I think the total cost for 50 days of the vials is around $30 (my insurance covers it).

I use 7% every day with no irritation, by the way.
