just want to say this is another one of those posts that should be organized like littledebbie mentions in her blog.
I scratch the date with a sharp object and then sharpie the date and put a P before the date if it is a pulmozyme nebulizer. I have 16-20 nebulizers at one time and estimate that since I'm not using them daily that they last for 2 years.

I Sharpie every little piece!! lol. I don't write on them all, but I write on the biggest one, and then put scribbles on the others, to keep them together. It works, I swear.

I have never understood this, so I will ask the dumb question and someone can fill me in. If you are doing a proper job clining the nebs, ie rinsing them in hot soapy water and then boiling them, why can't they be mixed up? (assuming they are all the same type of neb cup and equal age) I assume you are boilling them all in the same pot together or washing them in the same dishwasher? At this point are they not pretty much in the same state?

I've got about 8 or so in rotation at any one time; they only get used once per day each then washed and microwave sterilized at the end of the day. The place where it seems to wear-out is the tiny hole on the inside part (Pari LC types) - I feel like I can see water running through it more slowly when I wash/rinse it if its getting old and I wonder if the constant microwaving makes the hole get smaller; that plus the mouthpieces get cracked because my boy chews on them.
I mark the pulmozyme units by snipping off the handles of the 2 main parts and not worrying about mixing up the mouthpieces and figure the single-use then wash takes care of the rest.
