To Amy or anyone else that might know...
Bonniebaby showed that she has Delta F508 and 5T...my question is this...is 5T an actual mutation? I am not questioning her, I am asking because Cheyenne has 7T and a known mutation, her dr said the other one was unknown at this time.

Hi Guys, my kids & I all have the 5T (TG12) which is a variant, not a mutation, the key is the 12 repeats (TG12) once that variant repeats that many times it behaves as a mutation and if you have another mutation you have CF. As far as the 7T or 9T ,everyone has either 5,7,9 T- the 7 &9 are most common and do not contribute to any weakening of the CFTR gene. This does not mean that you don'rt have another mutation on that chromosome. Very confusing, I got my info from Steve the Ambry guy. Hope it helps.
