I just got a comment on my blog from a tracym, who said she just found this site, is a 40 year old female with CF, and happens to have been living in Sapporo, Japan for the past 4 years!
I was hoping she had already posted a self-introduction on the forum, but haven't found her name on the site, when I searched for it.

I don't think I'm the only one who's curious about how someone with CF is able to live in Japan, especially at 40 yrs old, when CF care is so scarce.

So,

Would the real tracym please stand up...! (Please introduce yourself!)

I'm not tracym I'm afraid, but I may find myself in a similar situation, albeit maybe not the same circumstances. My girlfriend (of 4 years) who is from Hong Kong but moved to England when she was 4, has had her heart set on moving back to Hong Kong in a few years time. Her parents are selling up and moving there next year, leaving her to finish her degree.
I really want to go with her, I love Hong Kong I've been there a couple of times but its so horribly polluted there, but I dont think I'll let my CF stop me from going and I will eventually move there, maybe if its only for a few years. Its not ideal for me but I dont think I really have a choice. She is actually in Hong Kong at the moment seing her family (the first time she has been back without me and away from me for more than a week in 4 years) and I really miss her

Just wanted to say that I vacationed to Hong Kong twenty years ago and the pollution was horrible. I had to cover up my face walking in the street thinking that would help me lol. I am not sure even if wearing a face mask would help. Anyone with CF who goes to Hong Kong needs their head examined. Sorry

20 years ago? well I'm quite positive its worse now. There are areas to stay which has good air quality, by the sea obviously. I never wore a mask whilst there, and i never caught anything in a total of 12 weeks there. Even though I stayed in Mong Kok the most densly populated area in the world! My girlfriend however did catch a horrible cold/flue but it didnt seem to affect me. Although I'm not you're regular CF patient, I'll be fine. I am known at my local clinic as the 'Imposter'.
