Thanks for the information about PGD. I have been struggling with what to do about having another baby as well. Like you, my first child was diagnosed with CF and we had no idea that we were carriers. It has been 1 year and 4 months since her diagnosis - she is now 3 years old.

I want another child, but know that we can not support another child with CF properly.

Did your insurance cover any of the procedure?

I also note that you mentioned having taken Aidan to Minnesota for a consultation - do you live close by and is that something that you would recommend? Like you, we are willing to do anything. I have been wondering if Minnesota does consults and what additional information we could gain if we had one so I was really interested to see that you mentioned having gone.

Guy's, the only reason i continued this topic here was because i knew Megan would see it.

I am having trouble contacting her, and i can't pm her as she is not a signed in member.

Im sorry, if it bothers you but until i can get through to her i will just post on this topic. I'm <u>NOT</u> doing it to annoy people.

Christian, once iv'e gotten through to her i will let her know about the pregnancy section and ask her to post it there if she doesn't mind sharing her story with other's.

I don't want to speak for LouLou, but I think she was just encouraging more people to post in pregnancy so we can grow the little prego board a little. I really don't think she meant that this topic being here was annoying her-again, I don't want to speak for her! But that was my impression.
I am not one of those people that cares who posts what where-no one follows those rules, and they're silly anyway. I have more to do with my life than police an internet site. I just thought it would be a cool thing to add to the preg forum.

Anyway, hope to hear more about it again.

For whoever else asked- PGD was not covered by my insurance although I fought and tried to get it covered. IVF was covered, thank goodness! PGD cost about $6,000 I think. IVF is about $15,000 I think.
