A few questions about antidepressants

Thank you all for your replies! I am looking forward to starting an antidepressant. Some of you know that I have had a very difficult past year and a half or so and it has been very hard for me to be excited and happy about things. I am happy about my promotion and up coming marriage, but not as happy as I would have been 2 years ago. I find myself waiting for the next bad thing to happen a lot. I have had crying fits or fits of outright rage at little things like getting an overdraft fee on my checking account. Those things never would have bothered me before. I want to be able to look forward to the future with excitement, not fear over what life will throw at me.

I don't remember the names of the antidepressants I took, it was about 13 years ago, but I can say they helped a ton. For me, seeing a shrink at the same time was key. I was finally less emotional and could handle problem solving with the meds, but if it wasn't for the shrink talk and getting me through those tough times, I don't think it would have been nearly as effective! They had to go hand in hand, especially for when you go off of them, you need to have your mind straight or else it could end up being the same old same old.
