Is there an address to the hopital where Garran is so that we could send him a little something. My ds with CF is 6 and would love to buy a present for him. He already used his Christmas money that his great aunt gave him and bought gift cards for all the the CF kids that were in his hospital over Christmas. He has such a big heart for such a little guy.

IF you send me a PM I can give you their home mailing address. Garran's Mom prefers things not be sent directly to the hospital since things get lost.

Just a quick update.

The last few days have been good for Garran in regards to his Pulmonary Status. His Blood Gas is just about perfect they say, and he will be switched out on the Vent to where he is stimulating all the breaths and the vent is just assisting. Kinda like a Bipap machine would. So that is good news

On the other hand, he began to have blood in his urine yesterday, and tests have shown that his Kidneys arent functioning like they should. Renal Failure is not neccessarily the only thing they are looking at but it is one thing that might be the cause.

He has had a few blood clots come out since they took the foley catheter out, and we are talking with a Nepherologist (sp) today about his kidneys. It might be that they place him on some diaretics to try and flush out the kidneys and get them functioning better, or worse case scenario they might have to do Dialasis (sp)

We will know more this afternoon.

His spirits are good and he has been more awake lately as they have weined off some o the sedation.

The Docs did not do the Bronchoscopy because of the kidney issues, however his lungs look and sound really good, and they are not getting very much out when they suction. His Lower Right Lobe is opening even more, but as a result they are able to see the extent of his Bronchaectstasis. Which is pretty severe.

Anyway, I am getting pretty tired myself, I think the adrenaline of everything that happened on Christmas Day has started to wear off in me and things are starting to bottom out a bit. but I will not leave him here at the ICU alone. I told him I would stay and I just cant go home, The Chaplain here keeps saying I need to get out and get some rest, but to tell you the truth I wouldnt be able to rest because I would be too worried. So what is the point.

anyway, I better get going. Thank you all again for everything!
