ok i have a small vent against myself. my roommate (well apartment mate really) has been sick for about a week. she's had a horrible cough and i've been telling her she really needs to go see a doctor b/c she sounds awful. she kept saying she really didn't have time. today she had to go to the emergency room b/c she couldn't keep anything down, including her migraine meds, so she had a migraine. they had to start an iv and put some fluids in her. turns out she has the flu and a cold. so the whole time she is telling me this story all i can think is oh crap please don't give it to me. i do feel badly for her, but at the same time it's hard to feel a ton of sympathy for her just b/c she had to have an iv for like an hour. and i've been holed up in my room for the past week b/c she is out in the living room hacking all over everything.

so anyway, i feel like a jerk. just b/c one of her worst health days doesn't seem so bad to me doesn't mean it's not bad for her. does anyone else ever do this? i should mention that i really don't like her very much normally, so that might be a tiny part of it.

sigh. also, is there something that i can spray on the futon and pillows to kill all the germs??? i got the flu shot, but i'm still terrified i'm going to catch this. i have to graduate in july so i can get married in november, i can't afford to do a month of iv's!!!!

thanks for listening <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

haha..yeah..i do it too. my boyfriend will get a cold and you would think that he was on the verge of death. he over reacts a bit and i have very little sympathy.but...my favorite is when someone around me gets sick and they say.."hey, i think i have what you have" or "you gave your cold to me" right..thats exactly what happend!

DO NOT feel bad...doesn't she realize that you have CF?? My goodness, she should have gone to the doctor right away. She obviously doesn't realize what she can do to you, so why should you feel bad? She is the one that should feel bad! Ugh...what are people thinking?

Don't feel bad at all! Maybe the best thing for you (if you can) is to move away from this person. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

FYI, anyone who lives with someone who is high risk for the flu should also get a flu shot and shouldn't be turned down even if there is a shortage (as there was this season).

Also, your roomate sounds like a shrew. You need a new one.

My boyfriend got the flu this year, and I didn't, so good luck.

I think we all feel that way. My sister-in-law(who is a great woman and mom) is always calling here asking questions about 2 year old being sick, you know like runny nose stuff, REALLY SICK. Of course I would never say anything but I always think, "are you kidding me, do you even know what sick is?" Dn't feel bad Jenny, it comes with the job.
