Abbreviations

ok, i'm new to this forum thing. can someone please update me on all the abbreviations or tell me where to go so i can find out what they mean. for example what does Dx mean?

Dx = diagnosed
rx = prescription
HS = hypertonic Saline
cfrd = cystic fibrosis related diabetes
cpt = chest physical therapy

Hi, I still get confused with some of the abbreviations, and I've been here over a year, LOL.
Dx - diagnosed.
some of the medical ones still throw me, but I beleive PA -pusedenoma.
lol - laugh out loud.
Cant think of any more right now, but i'm sure someone else will chip in.

Ds, Dh....darling son, darling husband

The one that always got me and I was always too embarrased to ask was SOB --- short of breath.

Oh, there are also the inlaws -- FIL, MIL, SIL...
BDs -- bronchial drainage instead of CPT

wcf = with Cystic Fibrosis
wo/cf = without CF
tx = lung transplant
f = female
m = male
yo = years old
nebs = taking meds thru nebulizer
tune up = going in hospital for IV's, cpt and general reconditioning of health
lol = laugh out loud
lmao = laughing my ass off
Just a few more I can think of.

Hi Haley, Welcome to the site, and thanks for asking that question, ive been on for awhile and still am trying to figure out some of the meanings.... BTW (by the way) congrats on the pregnancy !!! Joni 55 y/o f w c/f mother of 4 sons and 1 grandson

hmmmm that's funny i refer to ppl as being SOB quite often and it has absolutely nothing to do with their breathing <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
