Thought you would like to know a little something about Rami, for those of you who don't know him--he told me a little about himself.

"No problem at all. I would like that we know each other more. I'm 23 male, Christian, single (lol). I have CF, CFRD, and mucoid pseudomonas. I'm still at university and I hope that I can finish it before CF finishes me. My FEVS are in the 20s since last year. I live in Beirut, Lebanon a country where CF is not familiar at all. As a result, I got a very late diagnosis at 18. So all the time before I had digestion problems. Even after the diagnosis, we found out that there are no cf drugs in lebanon. There are enzymes but the social security doesnt cover them so I cant afford to buy the quantity my body needs. I take minimal amounts ( 2 pills per meal) and have weight problems. I'm 5'2 and 41 kgs now. There is no tobi, pulmozyme or vest.

In few words, its not the ideal country to have CF in. However, I made it this far and I'm not giving up. I have a goal to earn my degree."

He's just another cfr trying to make it in the world--another person for me to admire along with the rest of you!!

I feel bad for Rami and even felt bad for not sending him enzymes and TOBI. BUt I'm uninsured and my enzymes cost a fortune as does my TOBI and while I would like to help him out, I can't spare any.

People forget that even in America that there are people who don't have the healthcare they should. That have to make choices whether they want food or medicine. And some states have such guidelines for assistance that a lot of hard working people fall into the "can't pay for what I need but don't qualify for assistance" category

*off soapbox*
