I go to UCD in Sacramento. I have only gone there as an adult though and I'm not sure if it's the same doctor that sees peds or someone entirely different. I see Dr. Morrissey. I have also seen Dr. Cross, who is ancient and has supposedly been "just about to retire" since I started going there (which was 5 years ago). I am not a fan of Dr. Cross, HAHAHA. I have been to 2 other CF centers besides UCDavis so I do have a little bit of a basis for comparison.

Dr. Morrissey is a good doctor, but there are some things that irritate me about him - the major one is that he is not JUST a CF doc - he has to see other pulmonary patients and is also an assistant professor. Yes, he only sees cystics on CF clinic day, but I always feel rushed and, because of that, almost never get everything discussed that I'd intended to. Because he sees so many patients, I feel like he doesn't really know or remember me. Also, inpatient care at UCD is lacking, IMO.

I could go on and on, but I don't want to ramble forever in this thread Feel free to PM me if you want to talk more.

Edited to add: There are pros and cons to every CF center out there. Please don't let the few negative remarks I've made worry or frighten you - I do believe I receive quality care at UCD overall. The most important thing you can do for your daughter is educate yourselves (which you are doing ) and be her advocate. No matter where you go, you have to remember that doctors, nurses, etc. are only human and even the most meticulous and careful doc will make a mistake eventually - this is not to scare you, just to let you know that it's okay to watch them, ask questions, etc. At this point, you may not even know what questions to ask, but you found us so... WHOO-HOO for you!! The people on this site are amazing sources of information

Wheezie--

I didn't know they had "adult" docs. We've seen Dr. MacDonald and Dr. Jhawar...MacDonald seems very interested in answering any and all questions while my impression of Jhwar is that he's ready to go off and do other things pulmonary-related...

Seconding kitomd21. Liked McDonald, disliked Jhawar enough that I've specifically requested not to see him in the future, though that was more because he came across as very condescending than because he seemed uninterested in his patients.

And I don't have any experience with the adult clinic either.
