ABX and sun exposure?

Alright...I am looking for some personal tips and advice from all of you!

I am currently on some strong abx. I know that these make you sensitive to the sun....but for how long after you stop are you still sensitive?

I am planning a vacation and would hate to end up with sun poisoning!

What about tanning before hand? (The purpose was so I had a base tan and did not fry?)

Hmmm..

Im not sure for how long after you would be sensitive. I suppose it would have to do with which abx you are taking, the dosage and all ..

I would call your pharmacist and/or ask for a fact sheet on the medication.. Sometimes there is also an 800 # to call..

I hope you get the info you need & have a great time on your vacation !!

DS is on two which are specifically labeled regarding photosensitivity, so we always make sure he's covered in sunscreen before going outside. Actually he spends almost all day during the summer outdoors and is just fine.

I prefer hawaiian tropic for kids -- seems to smell good and cover nicely. Think his daycare uses banana boat. Some of the higher spfs are really, really gunky and are hard to apply. I also buy a spray sunblock and hose him down with that if we're in a hurry. He has never ever had issues with sun poisoning and he is very fair skinned.

I am on Bactrim and Keflex...I am not sure of the dosage....but I know they are strong!! Both come with sun warnings <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">
