Accupuncture

I went to an acupuncturist for the first time last week. The needles are super tiny/thin, nothing compared to the needles we've all seen and felt with pic lines ect. I saw those little things and thought, no problem. You just have to not move when they're in, or else they really hurt! It was interesting though. She focused on clearing mucus, opening my sinuses and lungs and creating better energy for my kidneys. She said everyone has deficient kidney chi (energy) because of the way our lives go, stress, society issues, stress, ect. So to her, helping your kidneys out with the right foods and needle treatment was key for me. Unfortunately they don't accept my insurance coverage so I won't be going back to her and have to pay myself. My hubby gave me nice gift certificate a while back, which was why I finally tried it. I learned a lot!

My doctors said they would write me a perscription for continued use of deep tissue massage or acupuncture or chiropracter. I think I have found one that will accept my insurance coverage. Fingers are crossed.

There's a lot to be said for Chinese Medicine, especially since for centuries they've been using such different and natural methods then the West. Based on the body and environment vs. antibiotics. It's pretty cool stuff.

I think you would love that book I rave about Energy Medicine. You can do your own work to yourself. It really works and there is never a cost to help yourself

ok so here's my story.... about a year ago my family and I went on a cruise and my mom and I decided to have reflexology done on our feet. It felt really neat and was alot of fun... but I ended up getting really sick within the next few days (the last days of the cruise) and even got a fever (which hardly ever happens to me)... finally ended up in the hospital when we got back (not so much fun). I'm willing to bet that when I had the reflexology done that it released sooo many toxins into my system (which is what its supposed to do) that my body couldn't handle it and I ended up getting sick... kinda makes me wonder what would happen if I did it on a regular basis...

I used Reflexology many times pre and post transplant and it never made me sick

It helps to relax me and love to do it myself whenever I can

I tried acupuncture a few years ago and at first I was a
big sceptic, I gave it a a go because one of my friends was an
acupuncturist and she talked me into it. Each time I had a
treatment she would warn me that my cough would be particularly
productive that evening and not to worry, that it wasn't an
infection, it was merely the treatment working. Her predictions
were always true to the point that I could no longer put it down to
mere coincidence. I used to get a treatment every month to couple
of months. I haven't had a treatment for about three years
now but am going back soon to try and treat my sinuses.

Funnily enough, she used to always say that she was trying to treat
the 'bugs' in my lungs and I would always mention what my sputum
cultures would say (At that time I had been culturing, amongst
other things, PA for about 8-9 yrs). Soon after she began
treating me the PA cleared and I have never cultured PA in my
lungs since............... to this day, I still don't now if it's
coincidence (because I'm so science orientated) or if it was
the acupuncture .. who knows?

I've still got B. Cepacia though, I've had it for 8 years now and I
don't think anything is going to get rid of those
suckers............... they're like cockroaches....... I think
they'd survive a nuclear explosion!
