A little off the question, but.... I have recently came to the conclusion that refux is a very serious component to our disease. I encourage anyone that has any GI symptoms to get a work up done and be compliant with that treatment. Reflux causes hyperactive airways, which can cause nighttime wheezing/coughing. Not to mention reflux also causes bronchiectasis, which can only make ours worse. I truly believe that my reflux is partially responsible for the bronchiectasis that has laid roots in my right lung, predominately my RUL which is exactly where the damage from reflux would be.
As to the question, other than what coll listed; tagamet, pepcid, protonix, aciphex are a couple more. There are two different types of medicine so it is important to discuss with your doc to find the best one for you.
