I do not take prevacid, but I found that when I started taking Nexium i began having breakouts. Nothing too crazy but enough to be annoying to me.

The only thing that has really helped me out was to start using proactive. Sorry if I sound like an infommercial. I tried a ton of different things that had always worked for me when I had breakouts in the past and nothing worked I tried proactive cause my step bro had gotten it and within a little over a week I say things start to clear up. It takes some time though - the first few days I thought things were getting worse then after that first week it started to get better.

Good luck with finding something that works for you. It is annoying but unfortunately can be a side effect of the meds - I get the same thing (but a little worse) with prednisone when I take it.

Take Care,
Lindsey

I take prevacid but I havent noticed if it causes breakouts. I sometimes have problems with antibiotics causing them. I go through spells. I havent tried ProActive, but I have heard ppl who use it that have sensitive skin that it made it worse. Also heard from other's that it is great. I had to go through a few different brands to see what worked best for me. I seem to do well with Neutrogena as a basic facewash. I also use Dickerson's Witch Hazel Astringent cleanser after washing my face. It cleared up my skin pretty well.

Hey Karen,
I'm dealing with skin problems too. It's so annoying since I'm 29 and don't want wrinkles AND acne. Ugh. So I made an appt with a dermatologist, that way we can see what is going on and get the problem fixed. I haven't changed meds or anything, I think my body was just a little out of whack for some reason. So I know this probably doesn't help other than, for me, this is something my body just sometimes does. Nothing (medical) really brings it on, I just get breakouts sometimes.
Good luck,

I just wanted to throw this out there ... I have pretty sensitive skin as well. At first my skin seemed a little irritated with using the proactive twice a day as it suggested, so I cut back to once a day and I have done fine. I can definitely understand the concern though cause the stuff is not cheap.

Either way I say just experiment with different things and see if you can find something cheaper that works for you. If not it is always an option. I hope you are able to get the situation resolved.

Lindsey

Hi-
Just wanted to throw my two cents in about pro-active. I have used it for 7 years.....I was an actress in LA and had to have pretty skin. I bought it and later found out that EVERYONE I knew used it as well...I mean my friends who were big actresses...they and all of their friends used it. One of my good friends who had acne all of her life...really bad acne....commented on my skin one day. I said you have got to try pro-active. She didn't like the idea of using it because she went to a big Beverly Hills dermo and he didn't know anything about it. I said I, too, went to a "famous" dermo and mine had her kids on the stuff. Anyway, she tried it and her acne she had all of her life cleared up in 2 and a half weeks.

I, like Lindsey, can only use it once a day.

If you have an acne problem.it is a great solution and soooo cheap.
