my daughter had basically the same issues for about 6months, no outward or inward signs of liver damage or disease just the elevated lab levels. she was put on ursodiol (a form of actigull) in june, it took 2 months for her enzyme levels to start going down, but they did and she has had no unwelcome side effects of the drug so far.</end quote></div>

Thanks you, its good to hear that her levels have come down and there arent any side effects for your daughter. Thats what the specialist said too. So are they calling it CF liver disease? Ir still watching it?

What are the symptoms of liver problems? My levels are always fine (so far) but the last doctor that examined me said i have a 'large liver' and that apparently most CFers do, although i've never been told that about my liver before. I am now a little concerned that my liver may be starting to pack up.</end quote></div>

The specialist said Logan's liver felt large but the ultrasound didnt show and enlarged liver... He mentioned something about CF patients livers can feel large upon examination but are fine

I was told by the doctors between physical exam & testing that I had an enlarged liver & that is is common among CFers.

At that time my liver enzymes were fine so I wasnt put on Actigal until my enzymes were haywire which was aggrivated by using the abx Zosyn & having TPN.

When I am not using either of those my liver enzymes remain normal KNOCK ON WOOD!

My understanding is that you can have an enlarged liver, but if the enzymes arent high then chances are good your liver isnt stressing & in need of help.
