Acupuncture or other methods of healing?

I'm glad to hear about all the great feedback about acupuncture and other methods of healing. After a night of coughing, I've decided to treat myself to some pampering today. I'm getting a swedish massage for the first time today including 15 minutes of reflexology which is pressure applied to the feet and hands that helps with oxygen and fueling the body into a less stressful state. It all sounds wonderful. At the place that I am going to today they also offer acupuncture on Mondays so I will definitely have to check that out.

JazzysMom, one of my good friends is studying to be a chiropractic doctor and is in grad school now. He swears by it.

Dreamer, that would be nice if insurance would cover it. I would love that.

Fruity, what type of tea pills do you take? I try to drink a hot cup of tea everyday with lemon juice and honey. It makes me feel more relaxed. There is a tea store called Teavanna that has delicious herbal teas. The website is www.teavana.com. I always get the "To Life" tea its supposed to help with disease and ailments. I'm hoping for the money I have spent there it does something hehe.

Risa, during the emotional freedom technique of acupuncture does it hurt when they tap along the acupressure end points? By the way the advice that you gave me in a past post to buy biotene for my thrush has worked wonders for me. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">Thanks to you and Biotene no more thrush! yeay!

We use complimentary modalities with ourselves and children (one has CF). I have used homeopathy (7-8 years), acupuncture for self, reiki (I am newly trained and use it daily and on family/friends), chiropractic during pregnancy (was great), and plan to keep using reiki and acupuncture.

I have several articles here specific to CF <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.cfnutrition4life.com/cfnu/articles.php?cat_id=9">http://www.cfnutrition4life.co.../articles.php?cat_id=9</a> and a personal story of a wonderful woman who describes her experience with reiki...<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.cfnutrition4life.com/cfnu/readarticle.php?article_id=18

</a>
It is an area I believe is very overlooked in health and well-being. These techniques and health modalities are very empowering in my experience and balance out the traditional side of things.

Warmly,

I forgot to mention I also love the book Risa talks about Energy Medicine by Donna Eden...very good. The EFT stuff helped with grief work I very much needed last year in a way I couldn't believe...highly recommend this form or therapy and personal care as well.

Risa knows her stuff (you know I adore you Risa ;-)

Thanks for the websites Risa and Jody. Great info! And I agree with you Jody, Risa does know her stuff.

I had my massage today and wow it felt wonderful. I am no longer a massage virgin hehe I guess you could say. I went to a medical day spa so the massage therapist knew what Cystic Fibrosis was and mainly focused on my problem areas as well as pressure points that would help my lungs and my sinuses. She also performed a cupping method that helped move my goodies around. I had been spasing all last night and this morning with a dry cough. Although, during the massage my lungs had definitely calmed down. When the session was done I felt rejuvanated.
