Hi Lori,

Well...that's kind of my problem. Because all my issues are
now "pre-existing", no insurance company on the planet
will cover anything. I have even looked into getting private
insurance on my own to replace or supplement my current insurance,
and have not found anything.

THAT IS NOT TRUE! there are many companies that have policies that
do not cover pre-existing. It's actually a law now. Trust me
I have made sure my son will always be able to keep insurance and I
worked for Humana Insurance, a major insurance company. U
just have to have a declaration from your previous insurance
company showing u had continuous coverage. Some have 6 mos
waiting periods but after that it is covered. Like I said
ADEK won't be covered, but u could get better coverage to help with
all your other expenses. Take for example...I had a
knee replacement, which was a result of other injuries w/ another
company, but my new jobs insurance paid for it......I would not
give wrong info on such a serious issue. Not sure what type
of business u are in, but it sure wouldn't hurt to look at a new
company or occupation or wife to get better insurance.

I was able to get ADEK from my local pharmacy. Granted they had to look up the code in their little black book & were surprised to hear of such a thing, but it existed & had to be ordered. It cost me $19.95 for 30 day supply. I then got mine from Scandhipharm when I used the Schanishakes. Now I have switched to ABDEK which I order directly from CFSource.

I have also got them at our pharmacy before but they are just not
covered as a copay med, so I just get the Source CF ones free with
my Creon program
I have gotten better advice here than hours of talking to doctors
and on other forums. I truly do appreciate all of your
help!!! I have gotten some information sent to me from
SourceCF and their products sound amazing. And the cost
savings would be a lot too.

The cheapest I have found the ADEKS is online. We have CVS,
Walgreens, and Walmart in my area for pharmacies. Walmart is
the cheapest at $27. But it looks like the SourceCF stuff
might suite my needs better anyway.

I am also taking the advice about giving the insurance thing
another try. So far I have been striking out, but I've got
new vigor. Seems nobody wants to pick up the tab for problems
caused from "elective surgery". I guess I can't
blame them, but boy does it hurt the wallet.

Thanks again for the help. If anyone knows an insurance
company that would be helpful, I would appreciate it.

Oh, and as for employment, I now work in an office. I used to
make better money doing construction work MANY years ago, but I'm
afraid those days are over. I'm just not in physical
condition enough to work outside in the heat and on my feet all day
like I used to. Luckily I had a degree to fall back on, but
the money is still not the same.

Our insurance BCBS pays for my son's ADEK vitamins as they are
"medically necessary". Not sure if different
contracts with BCBS pay for different things or what but we indeed
get them paid for through insurance. They also pay for his
formula!
