ADEKS

My doctor usually always gave me sample bottles of ADEKS when she had them, but since she doesnt always have them i would like to buy them. My insurance already said they wont pay for them, they will only pay for generic Centrum. Thats all fine well and good, but i realy like the ADEKS and what's in them are specifically the extra vitamins we with cf need. Where can i get them? Who do i purchase them from ? I know one company offers a free bottle every month if you switch to their enzymes, but i am very happy with the enzymes i am taking now so i dont want to switch. My nurse once mentioned about the cf Pharmacy, how do i go about that? Do these require a prescription, or can i just outright purchase them?

That's where I get them. I usually pay for them. It was a pain getting them for free. This way, I just buy them and get shipped as quick as I need them. Its worked well for me.

I get them from my local pharmacy. My doc calls in a 30 day supply. They aren't covered by insurance. As a CF patient I wouldn't take anything else...don't think it will give you as much of the vitamins you need as this pill will. It's especially for CFers.

my daughter takes Vita BDECK and it is especially made for c/f. It is expensive but I get it from our local hospital pharmacy for $20.70 I think it usually sells for about $27.00. Only lasts for about a week and a half because she is on 4 tablets daily. I wish we could get them for free

Hi Mum2kj,

Wow, you go through a bottle a week. That is very expensive, surely there is somthing that can be done to make it a little cheaper.

Our daughter only has 1/2 a capsule 3 day's a week, as her vitamin levels were too high when she was on them daily.

On Wed, she will have her bloods done at clinic to see where her levels are at and if we need to increase them as she she is now 1 yr older from when she was tested.

We too, get ours from our hospital pharmacy which costs us the same $20.70.
What hospital is it you got too? As i am from Aust as well. I'm thinking it may the same one.

Take care

Hi eli

Kj had 30cm of her bowel removed at birth and coupled with c/f she doesn't absorb vitamins well.
especially fat soluble ones.

I wish they would be put on the pbs the same as all her other meds. But because its vitamins they don't feel it's necessary.
The only thing is her blood tests says she needs them (Stupid govt)

We live in Warrnambool, Victoria and I get them from the hospital pharmacy there.
It was too expensive to get them from the childrens when she first went on them so kj's doc organised them to be cheaper
at our hospital. Though they keep going up in price all the time. When she first went on them they were only $15
and something cents (can't remember now lol)
