Adult CFer moving to Illinois

Hey all-
I'm moving to Illinois sometime in the next few months and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good adult program. I got a list of all of them from CFF.org, but they don't tell you which ones are good and which ones are not so good. I figured someone on here was bound to have had some experience in Illinois. My clinic in Denver is really good, so I want to find one comparible. Thanks everyone!

I went to Carle Clinic in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois for 4 years during my college years. Great center - not sure if it was an adult accredited center but they take adults. I guess if you are close to Chicago though they probably have great care there. Sorry no suggestions.

I was transplanted at Loyola Hospital in Maywood Illinois. I now live in Florida. If you cannot find a CF center, I would call the hospital at Loyola and ask for a recommendation as they have a large CF population from what I hear.

I would ask for the pulmonary dept. I will ask my friend who lives in the city for you

Where in Illinois are you moving to? That will help in determining the best CF clinic.

I'm moving to Bloomington-Normal, which is right smack in the middle of the state. There's a clinic about 30 minutes from where I'll be, but I don't mind driving farther to get better care. Thanks for your responses.

Aimee-
I just moved from Bloomington-Normal 3 years ago. Born and raised there. We have always drove to Chicago for Cory's treatment but I have heard some great things from the Peoria clinic. Are you moving due to school or job?

The docs I was talking about, Garrity & Bhorade, not only dealt with transplant -- But they headed the CF clinic at Loyola, and I believe they're involved at UofC too... There are very strong centers at Rush Presbyterian Hospital and Northwestern Memorial Hospital and, I believe, at Lutheran General Hospital... I believe that with or without the above docs -- There is a strong center at University of Chicago... Lutheran General is in the Northwest suburbs -- The rest of them are in Chicago... Northwestern and Rush close to downtown... UofC on the South side...

This is from a personal friend of mine sharing what centers are CFF.
hope this helps
