I have been on Advair 500/50 for a number of years. I really like it and feel it helps me - I have a pretty major asthma component to my CF at times.

I'm on the Advair 250 HFA inhaler, and it really helps with my shortness of breath that I get from inflamation.

One of the things M's new CF team did was completely overhaul his resp meds. They switched him from Pulmocort/Albuetoral/Atrovent nebulizer to Advair inhaler. He uses an aerochamber but doesn't always inhale correctly. (He's struggling with going from about 20% compliance to 99% compliance with a new family.)

When M refuses to inahle his Advair correctly, he coughs all day and can get winded. When he takes it correctly, there's no cough during the day and no snore at night. I can clearly and nearly instantly hear the difference in his breathing and airways between when he clamps his mouth shut and wastes the med versus when he cooperates and gets it into his lungs. And, he can't even hold his breath after he sucks it in yet.

I never heard the difference as well with his old combination. Although, he was doing all of those in a handheld neb, so it was more than *just* the meds at play with his pulmo issues previously (like a neglectful fostermom who just never bothered to try very hard).
