Advair

Hello, my doctor perscribed " Advair" for me today at my visit. I explained to him that when i exercise especially walking on the treadmill , i can walk very fast and hardly cough at all, but once i am finished and sit down to relax, i cough like crazy. Same thing when i do any kind of activity, even walking out to the car. The minute i am in the car the coughing starts. He said it sounds like i have an exercise induced asthmatic componant, and perscribed Advair. Has anyone had a similar experience? Has advair helped ? Gosh, it would be nice to finally get some relief from that <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> if it works.iane 39 / cf / diabetes / b.cepacia

I like using advair b/c it doesn't leave a nasty taste in my mouth and I don't spray the back of my throat if I don't have a spacer. Advair is like a mix of servent and flovent, so it does have steroids. Remember to rinse your mouth out or brush your teeth after you use it. When I first started using it, I noticed that I didn't feel like I opened up much like w/ the aresol inhalers. But after I used it for a few weeks, once at morning and night, I needed my emergency inhaler less.hope you like it.Debbie22 yr old w/ CF

My daughter just started Advair because her fev 1 has dropped a bit. Did the Advair have any effect on your lung function?

After using the advair about a year now it hasnt exactly improved my lung function, but i am able to walk without coughing so much like i used to. I also need my inhaler a bit less, which any kind of inprovement is always good. Now i only use it once a day, where as the instructions are to use it twice per day 12 hours apart. The problem i was having with that was , i would forget to do the night time dose or if i did the day time dose late then the night time dose would be due when i was already asleep. Since i noticed a difference with doing it just once a day, i decided to just stick with it.

Just think of how much better you would feel if you took it twice a day. Just a suggestion. I've taken Advair for maybe 2or 3 years, I cant remember, any how I couldnt tell the difference when I started taking it, but Im sure that it is working.

I use advair for the minty taste and the cool flying-saucer design. But honestly I haven't noticed a difference in my breathing, on or off it. Maybe time to cut it from the regimen.
