I can't tolerate Advair at all, it makes me more SOB and wheeze more...SOmething in it.. I don't know.. Plus it is sooooo expensive to be on...

I know a lot of ppl who really love it though...

Advair is also available in MDI form (metered dose inhaler like albuterol, etc.) The MDI form is relatively new to the market in the US but has been used in many other countries for quite a while. If you have trouble with dry powder inhalers, just ask your doctor to re-write your RX for the new HFA inhalers.

My son was on Advair for about a year. Our doc at the time was trying to rule out an asthma component to his CF. But after a year of not really seeing a difference, as well as some articles I read about the havoc it can wreak on other organs in the body, I asked if we could stop it. Our doctor agreed and it was a good decision. From what I've heard it seems to work better for those with the asthma component.
