Advice about Fast Nebulizers

I made a mistake - for sterilization I use steam sterilizer - any other is ok also but if you want to boil make sure it does not tuch the bottom of the pan - put a bowl into the pan with water or some material at the bottom. If the nebulizer gets the 300 celsuis it may melt. But i use steam - its fast and economic for us. I do the sterilization just before ex. breakfast. let dry while still warm - very fast - and do the nebs..
It much cheeper the e-flow here and we get good servicing here - however I have not heard of it mallfunctioning but for the par when a father forgot to take the nebulizator out of boiling and it just melted.

Thanks for the feedback!
I am in Israel and the company that sells the eflow is making a hefty profit. I call it extortion. The doctors say to get the eflow (it's officially OK. I think they won't recommend anything else - probably too much of a "limb")
I got a microwave sterilizer and I LOVE it. The neb pieces live in there. I almost melted our pieces boiling them in a pot and forgetting about them. I have such peace of mind with this sterilizer.

Aeronebgo is just as good as eflow as far as medical parameters but much more cheeper.
So I guess you may have had family members in Poland? the second mutation and the leading in your kids is typical for jews who settled in Poland and for Poles
A microwave is also good and fast and no worying about melting in the pot - just like the steam sterilizers

Microwave cannot be used with nebulizer from Aeroneb cause it has metal parts in it
However the price is a huge diffrenece.

Annomie,
I read your post how do you manage multiple medicines with only 1 nebulizer. I think you may be confusing the nebulizer's compressor with the nebulizer cups. The "neb" people write about are the nubulizer cups you put the medicine into and the compressors are the engines so to speak. For example, the Pari Vios is the compressor and the Pari Sprint is the nebulizer cup my daughter uses. You can easily use the same compressor for each medicine. We use a different nebulizer cup for each medicine. The Pari cups are reusable.
For most people diagnosed with CF early these 2 terms compressors and cups are never confused, but for those mis-daignosed with asthma etc first many people are never taught these things. For years we used the disposible nebulizer cups not knowing that they were only meant to be used for 2 weeks versus the Pari nebulizer cups come in 6 months reusable types such as the Pari Sprint etc.
For those who are diagnosed later please find a nebulizer compressor that is separate from the nebulizer cup. For example, avoid the Omron Vibratiung Mesh Technology. This product cannot be disinfected properly. You must also ensure the nebulizer cups you use are not disposible and instead are reusable. Then follow the CF foundations disinfection guidelines for cleaning the nebulizer cups.
My daughter's lungs are colonized with some bad bacteria and until I read about disinfection and types of nebulizers from the wonderful people in this forum I did not know about reusable nebulizer cups and proper disinfection procedures.

We just bought a mobilaire and are having trouble getting the psi right. CF doc said 30-34 for pulmozyne but it won't put out anything if it's under 50. What do you mobilaires use for psi w pulmo?
Not sure if it was damaged in shipping. Many thanks!!

FYI The part that goes in your mouth or over nose and mouth is the nebulizer. The machine is the compressor.

I would also like to know how much it is in the US. I think it is called the Trio or Altera? maybe someone else knows the proper name for it there? It is a real G-d send.

I also have the aeroneb go (we ended up buying both machines for different kids. Now I heard that one of the doctors here says it isn't good enough. I need to clarify this. I see the mist it makes is super fine and it is MUCH cheaper.
