Hello, I am gonna tell this in order that it does not happen to anyone else. If you are a Cfer who is healthy and still leading a productive life, thank your god for this everynight and every second you breathe. Enjoy every moment of your life, every action you can do, do whatever you want and whatever you wish, live your life to the max and do not care. There will come a time that you can do nothing , even the simplest of things, so that you dont regret the past live the present. Rami Najjar 21 with CF

I already do this my friend. I'm guessing your of Indian ethnicity with CF due to your name, just guessing. I only thought CF affected caucasians, learn something new everyday. By the way this is all guess work so don't take offence, please.

CF effects people of all nationalities. it is just more common in caucasians than most other ethnicities. Andrea

I wholeheartedly agree that one should live life to the fullest, CF or no CF. Be cautious not to sacrifice your future for the sake of today, you may live much longer than you think :) Don't be afraid to think long term ie college and setting other goals. As for me, I take joy in the responsibility of being an adult with CF. My parents were frequently given my life expectancy-1,3, 8, 12, not past 18 etc etc. I'm in my thirties now, married for several years and we own our own house. Like the late, great Warron Zevon said in his last interview (before he succumbed to cancer) with David Letterman "...enjoy every sandwich..."-ZZZZZZ

My 3 1/2 year old was diagnosed at 8 days old. She is doing wonderfully. I was so upset and scared at the hospital. We were miles away from home at a childrens hospital...no family support close by...and the nurse actually comforted me. But what she told me woke me up and made me realize the here and now. she said " you could walk out of the hospital and get hit by a bus....love your daughter now and thank God you have her NOW!!" Its hard to get passed all this "life expectancy crap" don't listen. God gave you your child to enjoy for however long you are to be together physically and forever spiritually. He chose you to care for him you must be special yourself!God Bless!

Ypur post has brought tears to my eyes. YOU ARE RIGHT!Love them here and now!I dont know what to expect yet. He was "normal" (except for asthma and nasal polyps) his whole life. Varsity football even as a sophmore, Varsity wrestler from a fresman, made homecoming court, good grades perfect son.Last summer seems chest colds were much more frequent tired alot.did not do well in football last fall. slow running. Not even interested in wrestling. I thought he was depressed or something. We went to an ENT dr. for his plugged nose and ended up w/ a dignosis of CF! I have my boy now, and spiritually we will always be together. Who ever you are, THANKYOU!
