I've seen that suggested before, changing gloves.
We have never had TSA go through Anna's meds. Even when we flew to Australia. And believe me, we carry alot... 31 different daily meds in a weekly pill container plus a weeks worth of extra, just in case we get delayed. That's just for a 5-7 day trip. I will consider ourselves lucky there, no germy gloves on Anna's things. Of course this means that this will not be the case on our upcoming trip this week just because I said we've never had them go through her meds before.
Good call Robert, surprised no one else brought it up.

I've flown about 20 times with my vest and never had a problem with them charging it as a piece of baggage.
I always carry a medical letter with me on all my flights, listing the vest, neb and all meds.
The only time I ever had a problem with my vest was in Egypt. But thats probably a pretty out of the ordinary case

(they just didnt know what it was and grilled me about it. In the end, it worked out fine.)

When we went to Hawaii in June, I called our airline ahead of time and had the CS rep make a note on my reservation that I had 2 pieces of medical equip (vest compressor case and the case that held the hoses and actual vest). And to avoid hauling the heavy thing up to an overhead bin, I asked the flight attendants to put it up with their things if possible. we had 4 separate flights and only on 1 did the lady grumble but she did it anyway. Oh and I mentioned to the gate attendants and they had us board early as well (party of 6 including 2 small kids and medical equip and all our other carry on bags!)

I wish I would have known about the vest not counting towards carry-ons a long time ago. It would have helped a lot!

The security people have always wanted to test the vest separately after it goes through the scanner. Just be prepared for that. And you won't need a note.

I have always used one carry on just filled with meds, therapies, equipement etc. and according to the airline they are not suppose to count that as a carry on. So you should be fine. You can call the airline and explain and hear it from them if that makes you feel better. But I have travelled alot and I really just put all stuff in one bag along with a note from my doc.

Good luck and have fun!
