who cares what people think!

like momtana said, i usually have one with me in case there is someone nearby with a cough. i've given up wearing them all the time. it's too uncomfortable and i don't really think they work that well when they get wet (from exhalation.)

I not only wear them on planes, but I wear them during the greater part of my life. At work, (both jobs!) in movie theaters and of course in clinic. I've noticed a big difference, but most CFers find them too strange to wear and so they don't. I don't mind them a bit. I'm ordering colored ones to match my clothing. It's pretty much so normal now that I forget i'm wearing a mask until I get a sideways look from somebody. I'm going on 18 months without infections. *knock on wood*
<br/><br/>
I'd wear it just for peace of mind on the planes. Like everyone else has said, who cares what others think? Is it worth getting sick and not having fun on your trip worth what other people are thinking? H*LL no! Let them think whatever they want, if they don't have the balls to ask why, that's their own problem.
<br/><br/>
Some say i'm a rare breed to be able to cover 3/4 of my face; I see it as a reasonable "sacrifice" as it is seen, to not get sick. I don't have impaired social functioning, my coworkers, students and paitents all accept it as me; completly normal. It's considered odd for me -not- to wear it.
<br/>
Anyway, I say wear it, obviously <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
<br/>
Be well.

kids look at you really weird when you are wearing a mask - I try really hard to compensate with very friendly looking eyes.
Would someone please post the link to the cute masks again? (I think it was Emily65 who posted it).
