I didn't get my vest until after dd was born - so I never used it during pregnancy, but I have used it for all the time I have been breastfeeding - and that's fine, though as Nicole said, if you're full, it can be a bit uncomfortable!

The clinic has a couple vests that they use as loaners for people to make sure they like it before they go through the hassle and expense of trying to get one through insurance. I didn't have time to call clinic today...I woke up late so I had to run out of the house to get to work, but I'm off tomorrow so I will call then!
