Albuterol use in infant

I think it's great they are being proactive. There are still plenty of clinics out there that wait until a child has symptons/problems before they start any treatments and IMO that is too late, the damage has been done by then. My son wasn't diagnosed until later in life, but we do the Albuteral prior to CPT, not after. I'm not sure if it would be as effective after the CPT, but then I'm not an expert on Albuteral (yet).

i use albuterol with my daughter when i fill that she is not in her 100%. Is not a hard drug, so you can do it everyday and as fas as i know it wont cause any damage to your baby body. But still i prefer to not give tu much quimics.
My doctors (i have seen a lot) tell me that you need to give the baby two puff with 2 minutes at least of distance( I do the first one prior CPT, and the second in the middle).

I too am wondering why you've been told to use the albuterol after the CPT instead of before. We've always been told to use it before. Of course Jordan has an asthma component with his CF, and he's always been advised to use albuterol before exercise as well. It makes more sense to me that you would want the airways open before trying to "beat" out the mucous.

We've used albuterol since my daughter started CPT. We do it before CPT to open the airways. She has no lung involvement yet, but its still important (as far as our doc is concerned) to open the airways before CPT.
