Altitude?

I currently live in Florida. My son is 1 month old and diagnosed with CF. I am wondering how altitude affects it?

We are looking to move to Colorado in the next year or two, and I wasn't sure how the high altitude would affect him.

Thanks!

We've vacationed in Colorado/Rocky Mountain National Park for a week or two, starting when DS was about 14 months old. He never seemed to have any issues. During our visit, we did have to push liquids 'cuz he could easily have gotten dehydrated...

Hi, We live in Colorado, Denver area. The pulmonary team here is the top in the country. The only time altitude has any affect is occassionally when they get sick and then they need a little O2 to help them out, but this is not the case for everyone and not all the time. Moving here while he is a baby should be good timing because he will get accustomed to the altitude early in his life.

Where in Colorado are you planning to move?
Let me know if there is any info that I could get you regarding our clinic or anything about the area. I know that the Children's Hospital in Aurora (Previously Denver before the move) is the only CF center in Colorado and they also serve Wyoming and Montana. I would highly recommend Dr. Accurso and/or Dr. Wagner or Dr. Siegel.

PS: I should have said the only PEDIATRIC CF Center, I forget about National Jewish for the Adults. We don't go there yet, but will at some point as Nathan becomes an adult.

it is a lot drier here in Montana and my doctor (also in Denver, but at the Adult Center at National Jewish) tells me that some people have trouble with altitude .... I think I do, but then it might be that I am getting older lol
