All of you will understand. I have been having problems with tachycardia, anxiety, feelings of doom. Get dizzy sometimes during neb treatments, Cant get my butt off the couch. Tired, nauseas, shaky. Scared to be alone.
I was just in the hospital and my dr could not find anything wrong with me, wants to blame my meds, he wanted to take away my Duoneb, tried it and could not breathe.
I get feelings of almost passing out, sometimes, but not always during breathing treaments. Xanax helps but I am a mess until it starts to work. Does not help with my energy level, just want to lay around.Cant focus my brain on anything excpet how lousy I feel. I have an apooint next week with my CF specialist and hope he has some answers.
Any feedback here? Has anyone felt this way and what did you do about it?

Definitely sounds like anixety attacks. I am sure its mixed with depression also. I dont know if all anxiety is emotional/mentall or if there are physical contributions to it, but if you havent already done it I woud seek professional counseling &/or consider additional or change of meds.

Anxiety can do a number on you.

Good Luck......

Hi Mare,
I am sorry you are having such uncomfortable symptoms! Last year I fainted at my son's football game and also had constant shakes & dizziness- went to a cardiologist & they found that my salt was too low. For some CF'ers (like me) lack of salt retention can cause your blood presure to plummet and then feel like crap. Just my thoughts.

I wish you well...

sounds like anxiety to me and I have first hand experience. I was always high strung but after my dx and everythign started getting to me I eneded up having ekg due to many symptoms similar to yours and realized it was anxiety. I also woudl get hot, sweaty, dizzy when I had something go really wrong. Trouble sleeping, mind racing, I woudl worry abotu everythign but felt like I just didnthave it in me to worry do anythign about any of it.

I went on xanax for a month while also taking buspirone (which takes a while to build up to a therapeutic level) then just buspirone. B- made me tired for about an hour after taking it and it was 2x a day so that did not work well so then I started taking it just at night (becuase it helped me fall asleep so easily which was a huge problem for me then) and I woudl take paxil in the am which lasts all day.

I also started counseling and excercising while slowly dealing with all my issues. I weaned off meds after a 2-3 year period and am glad I dont have to take them any more (though there has been one other very stressful period where I got a 2 mo script for xanax because I was having troubles).

take care and if you want to chat I am open. I used to not talk to anyone about my anxiety and meds but I learned now that so many poeple have issues with it and it alwyas helps to talk!

edited to say: there isa quiz type thing you can take to help identiyf if you have issues with anxiety depression or both and it really helps to see someone who knows abotu the meds and can find what is right for you. I think seeing a psychologist is best but at the time I saw my family dr only for a whiel but she took them herself and understood about finding what was righ tfor me.
