Carly,
<br />
<br />Check out my recent post on "hypoglycemia in CF". This is definitely something that happens in CF and has happened to me for 10+ years. The information on there will tell you how to overcome the low sugars and what types of food to eat, as well as eating every 2 hours in the morning to get past the lows. PM me your e-mail and I can share the full articles with you on hypoglycemia in CF.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>On a side note, a few years back I was getting these episodes of hot/sweaty flashes, shaking, blinking out. I was sure it was sugar related, but after extensive testing it turned out to be panic attacks. It threw me for a loop bc when I'd get them, I wouldn't really be feeling panicky or stressed at the time per se, they'd just happen. But often, thats how panic attacks are. Your description sounds alot like my panic attacks.</end quote></div>

I am wondering if mine are somewhat related to that as well! I havent had problems lately so who knows, but its possible either way, I guess. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

I do the same thing. Frosted mini wheats for some reason cause it every time I eat them.
I can't eat pancakes with syrup at all.

I have Low Blood Sugars ( Hypoglycemia ) The highest ( to date ) that my sugar
has even been is 132 and that was in the hospital on IV Pred after a meal.

I have a GTT every cpl of years.

I can feel it coming on, I keep Glucose Lozengers in my backpack. ( man purse ).

It seems to happen more often if I have something sweet for breakfast.

I see you have medicaid.. They should cover the strips and Machine/

Carly,

Just so you know, having hypoglycemia does not necessarily mean you are diabetic. I have had hypoglycemia episodes for 10+ years without being diagnosed with CFRD. The most important thing to remember is to carry something with you in case of emergency (glucose tabs, glucose gel), which you can pick up at a local pharmacy. I never leave home without them.

By the way, frosted mini wheats will ALWAYS do that to me too!!! That is the last time I had a bad low sugar reaction when I ate those for breakfast - so those stay out of my breakfast diet now.

Carly.

No not diabetic. today I have never had a High level.

Just the low sugar. I have learned what Not to eat.
I was told when first diagnosed with hypoglycemia that at some point
I would be a diabetic. that was 20 yrs ago, So far so good.

I remember having drops back in my early 20s but didn't know what it
was// As You said You get very hungry. I would eat like I had been starved.
