I was told by my doc 10-14 days and 2 weeks by the genetic councilor. <br>Has anyone had one and can you share the amount of time it took to get results?<br><br>I was able to get my sons genetic screening to the genetic councilor so I was hoping since they know what mutations they are looking for that it would take less time.<br><br>If anyone has any input I would much appreciate it<br><br>Carey<br>

we were told 2-3 weeks and for us it took ALL of three weeks. good luck<br>

I called the genetic councilor yesterday to find out if the results were back and she told me it takes three weeks. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> Wish she would have told me that two weeks ago. I'm a little upset that she said two weeks for the results. I wonder if she even remembers telling me two week cause she was not apologetic at all about it now being three weeks. I am convinced she didn't know for sure and that most likely yesterday before calling me back she called the lab doing the testing and found out.<br><br>She said that it takes two weeks to grow and culture the cells then one week to get the genetic profile of the cells. <br><br>My next appointment is at the three week mark so I am hopeful we will find out the results next Tuesday.<br><br>thanks for the replies!<br>Carey<br>

My daughter was born yesterday morning (Jan 23rd, 4 weeks early) and had surgery today for suspected simple meconium ileus. Well surgery showed complex meconium ileus. She is out of surgery, does not have an ileostomy due to obstruction being to close to the stomach. The surgeon removed the necrotic bowel and reattached the two segments of intestines. The next few days will tell whether the surgery was successful.
