Today was a day that I only dreamed of. I am not sure I ever actually thought it was going to happen but it DID.
Pinning in the nursing profession is bigger then graduation. This is the day when we receive our RN pins.
My ceremony was held in a church today. I had so many of the ppl I loved there. Funny in thinking about it. I have never had an event before in my life that people have come to. I never graduated from anything before. Never really had any parties or anything huge.
I was so thrilled. So many people came that were my dear friends and family. I walked down the aisle today, crying, lauging and beaming with pride while my 4 month old god baby slept in her mothers arms.
I walked up on to the stage and beamed at everyone there. Laughed and cried looking into the eyes of my family and friends who came to see me. I looked at my teachers and waved and blew kisses .... Every moment was amazing. I breathed in every moment of it. I looked into the eyes of my teachers and gave them all a look of love and pride.
I jumped up and down so hard after the service that I dropped my cell phone and it broke in half. HA..
I had to quick run to the Verizon store in between the pinning and the dinner to get a new phone...
I looked into the eyes of the Director of Nursing who gave me such a hard time and I smiled at her then jumped up and down.... Wahooo.
I got to read a prayer today as part of the ceremony. that was awesome.
I think this was one of the most special days I ever had in my life... I right now am in process of another migraine.. I had some numbness in my hands again today and dropped a diet coke on someones Coach bag... Dang hands.. I am about to go to sleep... and pray this headache away... BUT I thought of you guys today as I was being pinned. I thought of John and Jenny.. in Wisc. I thought of my friend who I call my adopted little brother... Adam who was there for me. I was so filled with love.... my dearest friends from work were there My dad beamed with more pride then me. My step mom cried the whole time.
I just wanted to share my special day with you. THis THursday is my Graduation. I still can't believe I did it.
THanks for letting me share,
Jennifer
