I can buy the Pari Trek online with everything for $169.00.

However-when I purchased it today through insurance, just my 20% was $88.00!

So-if purchased through insurance-the price of the machine is $440? It makes me SO angry!

Any why is insurance so messed up?

Insurance was charged $365 for our first pari proneb ultra, which I later found online for $79. I purchased our devilbiss pulmoaid out of pocket for less than $100 and more recently a pari proneb ultra II for $49. Didn't go thru insurance for either of them. Our DME doesn't carry either of those brands and have some other off brand instead. Plus I was too annoyed with the original charge 7 years ago for that first pari.

Thanks for the info. I am going to get a pumo-aide I think-out of pocket. Its ridiculous that insurance jacks up the price so much.

I went through the same thing with our insurance...I called the medical company that provided the equipment and told them i had no interest in paying 5x market value..we agreed that I would pay 0 out of pocket or I would send it back to them. You should also mention to the insurance company that your discount entitles you to pay more than without insurance and you'd like to source your own equipment and be reimbursed (they may be ok with it since it saves them money) ....

we ended up sending everything back to them and bought a invacare mobilaire 50..it cost less than the smaller compressors and works great with everything. We decided to go that route thanks to ronnie sharpes blog..
