I asked my Dr yesterday about the Mirena IUD. She told me if you havent had a baby, then it would be very painful to insert since the cervix hasnt been stretched. This applied to all IUDs. They are trying to come out with a smaller one for women who havent had children, but it isnt out yet. She told me about a new thing that has come out and it is called Implanon. It is an etonogestrel implant. It is a small, flexible rod that they insert under your skin and it last for 3 yrs. I didnt get one, but it is something I am looking into. The website is www.implanon-usa.com. Just wanted to put that option out there.
