I was so sad this morning to learn that one of our friends and church members, Jim, got his wings last night<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> Jim had his lung transplant at Duke this past spring. He did remarkable! But in September he began to become sick again and flew from our home town (St. Louis) back to Duke and has not been well enough to return home since.
The Burkholderia Gladioli that he cultured prior to transplant took over his beautiful new lungs and he fought the battle to the end<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> His 7 year old son and his wife were there to say their goodbyes...
I think I cried most of the morning. I just hate CF<img src="i/expressions/brokenheart.gif" border="0"> Please keep his family in your prayers.
