Hello to anyone who realized I've been gone for awhile, I went to Israel for about a month and am in the process of moving to Nashville.
While I was in Israel some realities became known to me, this was my fourth trip, my first being in 2000, and every time I've gone since then it's been slightly harder each time. I feel so blessed, for a 21 year old with CF to even be ABLE to go to Israel, but I realized vividly more than ever how reliant my body (as it's gotten older) has become on "extra help" (antibiotics, meds, tharapies etc.).
So, me being a very spiritual person I started thinking, as we've all done, what life would be like WITHOUT CF. So my question is:
"If you were healed right now of everything relating to CF, what would you do? Without physical restrictions, what would be next?"
(sorry if this has been brought up before and I missed it)
I think that, well, first off it would take me a LONG time to actually get used to not relying on meds and therapies. I would still wake up in the morning dreading therapy, then realize to my shock and joy that I didn't have to do it. I would probably have a sense of endless possibilities, like I could do anything. I would probably eat a LOT less, and a lot healthier.
Anyway, the first thing that came to mind, seeing as how Wisdom and Experience are the two most important things to me, I would love to pack a backpack and go hitchhiking across the country. Just talk to people, listen to people, meet people, constantly listen. I'm the kind of person that I think I could easily go without food if I had to, I just don't because I'm afraid of losing weight. I would eat food that was offered to me, buy food when I had money, if I missed lunch one day and got really skinny and hungry... who cares, what a story to tell my grandkids.
Maybe just spend a year as a hippy, hitchiking and meeting loads of weird people. What en experience!
So, just for fun, if you were suddenly healed what crazy thing would you want to do?
