I always check my daughter's meds; actually count out the pills...I have caught mistakes, usually it is they do not provide enough of the antibitoics(since she is usually on a high dose for a long period)..
Once our Pulmozyme got shipped to the wrong person, got a call from a mom who had received my daughter's pulmozyme(her child was not on it). That was an expensive mistake for the pharmacy.

Wow....that's a huge mix up! Whenever I pick up my meds, I always take a good look at them, if they look different than what I am used to seeing, I always ask the pharmacist. Sometimes it is just another company making the same drug....but you never know! I have been given the wrong strength of coumadin before and caught it (they gave me 5 mg instead of my usual 7.5, the tablet looks very different from dose to dose).
I have had the wrong medical supplies shipped to me, I got a huge box of colostomy care products instead of my normal port stuff.
I guess the moral of the story, always check your meds!
