Anti-Depressants

I've taken 3 anti-depressants, and I get the same side effect from each one: they all dry out my lungs within a few days.

Has anybody else experienced this? If so, did you ever find anything that doesn't cause this to happen?

Just curious...

Hmm Barbara, I haven't had that problem. Maybe it's just the particular one you're taking?? I've tried Paxil, Remeron, and now Wellbutrin. I don't recall any of them drying out my lungs though. The only thing I can think of is to keep your lungs hydrated with HTS - but I'm new to that as well so I'm not sure how well that will work. Or you could just keep experimenting until you find an antidepressant that works and doesn't dry out your lungs (although that would be a big pain in the butt). Maybe Lauren, our scientist has a better idea...

Here's what dried me out: Lexapro, Celexa

I had agood luck with Remeron. I LOVED the side effect of an increased appetite. I also slept way better when I was on it. Unfortunately, I've had to stop taking it because it ended up being inappropriate for the mental health problems I have. (I've got more going on than just basic depression)

Trazadone didn't work either. I experienced auditory hallucinations with this one. *shudder*

The medication I've been started on is seroquel. I'm really liking it. Check out my blog where I talk about my experiences with it: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://livingwellwithcf.blogspot.com/search?q=seroquel

I hope that helps, and I hope you'll find relief from the things that torment your brain.
