Okay, so like 6 months ago i was in the hospital and I got IV seftas and tobi, a couple days later my fingertips burned me whenever I touched practically anything. Then my hands became itchy for about a week or 2 and then my WHOLE hands peeled. At first I thought it was the weather change or something, but now the same exact thing is happening again. Has this happened to anyone, and do you think one of these meds could possibly be like burning me?

Hey mellybean
I started having problems with the palms of my hands last year after a hospitalization and iv drugs for 5 months on and off. For me, when I'm in the shower or washing dishes, anything with water, my hands prune up almost instantly and they HURT like crazy. Does this happen to you? If it does, then you are the only one who knows what i'm talking about because my doctors looked at me like i was on crack when i told them what was happening. they have no clue, but it happens now every other month or so. And then they peel and it is soooo disgusting and embarassing. WEIRD

jbrandyn,
at least some doctors know why it happens! and you reminded me about the itchy leg thing. i get that too, so bad like i'm on morphine, to the point where i put hydrocortisone cream all over my legs, which i guess you're not supposed to do. my cf psychiatrist actually suggested that my pruning was a result/symptom of depression! interesting theory, but NO! haha
