Antibiotics

How do you give you're kids their antibiotics? Up until now, we have given our daughter her antibiotics in liquid form, but we are thinking about giving her the capsules opened up and mixed with apple puree.

Any suggestions?

I guess I would think it might taste awful. Is it a cost savings issue?

DS is on zithromax and keflex and I get a months supply at a time in powder form and mix it up myself. Otherwise, I'd be running to the pharmacy every 7-10 days for refills and having to pay copays each time.

Our kid takes liquid, mind you he's too young for tablets, he has always taken them without any fuss, so they must taste good or so I thought. He has a vitamin to take, ketovite, and after I gave it to him the other morning I put the spoon in my mouth and I tastes absolutly revolting. Took me 4 hours to get rid of the taste.

( i missed you ) joe is on antibiotics for staph, he will take them for the next 2 yrs!!!!!!!!!!!. he has tablets , we think it's easier 'cos they don't have to be kept in the fridge and they are easier to take if you are traveling. they are probably too big for a toddler though. "see" you around

My 3 year old takes liquid augmentin when he needs it. At his last CF appointment the Dr. asked if we wanted a Rx for a tablet form but we opted to stick with liquids for now since he likes the taste and tablets would be hit/miss.

I've tasted all ds's meds and they're pretty nasty. Think the actigall is the worst -- cherry flavored vomit. Guess there's a reason it's called "Bile salts".
