antihistamines

does anyone here take antihistamines?

if so, which ones?

i have had bad experiences with them before, i.e., it dried my mucous out more than it already was and made me feel very tight in the chest.

i'm unsure if this was because of the specific antihistamine (benadryl i believe), or if this was due to the anticholinergic affect of some antihistamines

i have hydroxyzine now, and would like to take it for it's sedative purposes, but don't want to dry out my lungs. apparently, it has little to not anticholinergic affect, so i'm wondering if it would be harmless if i took it.

I think hydroxyzine is in the same family as diphenhydramine (Benadryl) and has anticholinergic, antihistaminic, and antiemetic properties.
