In the US it would be Boomer Esiason a football player who started an organization back in 1993 (?). His son was born with CF.

One time Bruce Springsteen held a benefit concert/baseball game in honor of me. The tickets the ppl bought went to the CFF, and what ever that amount was Bruce doubled. I was like 5 at the time. It was only a one time thing. But still cool!

I was thinking Rosie O'Donnell was involved somehow back in her glory day. Also Bill Gates has made huge donations to the CFF.

In the U.S. we have Dennnis Franz he's a television actor and has been in a few movies, Rosie Odonnell also a television actor (actress) and Boomer Asiason a former professional football player (American style, not soccer as you guy's across the pond call it) he is now a National Football League Television analist for CBS. Although I take issue with his support sometimes because he sued the Doctors that were taking care of his child because they never could find out why he kept getting sick and would't gain any weight. And if memory serves, I think his child was 2 years old before he was diagnosed with Cf. I believe he won a settlement in the amount of 2 million dollars. But I believe he gave the money to the CF foundation for research. So it's kind of a double edge sword for me. I don't agree with his lawsuit because sometimes people go years without being diagnosed correctly and Doctors aren't perfect but he has done alot for bringing awareness to the disease and the suffering it does cause. We also have Joan Rivers a televeision personallity, Bill Gates of course I'm sure you've heard of him. (founder of microsoft and worth 6 billion dollars) and who can forget the "Boss" Bruce Springsteen. That's all I can think about right now.

Wade Redden from the Ottawa Senators is a keen supporter for CF here in Ottawa. I was also so told that Joe Thorton from San Jose Sharks supports cf too. The main celebrity patron here in Canada is Celion Dion, whose niece died from cf.

I was reading over the list and wondered what ever happened to Frankie from the Real World? She was a (non-cf) mess on the show.

As far as the Seattle area goes we have Josh Brown, kicker for the Seahawks with a walk team for Great Strides. He called me to say thanks for my support with my team. We also have several of the Mariners (Jay Buner mostly) who step up to support the CFF. Also Kenny G lives in teh area and donates to the CFF regualrly as does Bill Gates I think. I guess that's what you get for having two of the leading treatment centers in the country right here! That would be Seattle Children's hospital and the University of Washington Medical Center (adult clinic).
