any tips for a Jamaican Vacation?

Hey Everybody. Just booked my last minute getaway for a week in Jamaica...anyone have any travel tips, CF related or not?
I've never been on a hot vacation before so I'm trying to make sure I don't forget anything, especially my sunscreen since I always get a red rash from the sun before I get a tan...and since I live in Northern Canada I'm pretty sure I'll be the whitest guy on the beach!
I've already had my first Twinrex shot for Hep A&B and have anti-malaria pills since there's a warning on right now for some of the Island. Any other advice will be appreciated...especially any that help pick up pretty ladies

Thanks,

Don't take home any funny-looking 5-star green flowers?!

How about, be sure to stay up on your liquids...I'm sure tanning on the beach may also dehydrate you. Also, don't get sun-poisining!

Have a great time in Jamaica, Man!

What kind of electrical connections do they have there? European or American? When we went to Mexico it was the same as the states, but might want to double check here in case you need to bring an adaptor....

Never mind.... I went onto the electrical currents of the world site and it's the same as U.S. Type A (2 pronged flat) and Type B (three prongs -- 2 flat, one ground). L

Ditto on the sunscreen. DS is on zithromax, which makes him more "photosensitive". When we were in Mexico last winter, we just made sure we slathered on sunblock every morning and added frequently. He did great. Also, check to make sure the water is filtered (or drink bottled). That goes for ice, too.

what are these funny green flowers you speak of Fred? I stay away from that stuff here...don't need to travel to get any.

How about getting through customs with all the meds? I'm getting a letter from my Dr explaining why I need everything, but do they usually give you a hassle?

Make sure you have the letter from the doctor and that all meds are in the original (valid prescription) containers. Drink tons of water. I mean more than you even think you might need. Not sure if there are prolems with water/food in the area, but be careful & have fun. Hubby/I were just thinking of going there. My oldest nephew/wife had their honeymoon there. They had a blast...
