Anyone been given Estradiol to get pregnant?

My post-coital test showed that my cervical mucus was so sticky that no sperm appeared to have survived in it. So I've been told to have a repeat PCT a couple of days earlier in the month (which will happen on Friday). Anyway, if this shows the same sticky mucus (which I know it will!) then they are going to prescribe me Estradiol, which I think is an estrogen supplement, in order to help thin the mucus. Has anyone else tried this? I think it is what they give menopausal women who are suffering with symptoms like hot flushes etc (i.e. Hormone Replacement Therapy). I don't really like the sound of it as from what I've read it has side effects and I'm already very suseptible to hormonal changes during the month, as they affect me badly. Is this Estradiol something that is definitely likely to help me or should I just push to move straight to IUI? Please help!

Sorry that I do not have any info on Estradiol.
We used IUI to get pg with our second child. We got pg with the first round of IUI. In a way it made TTC #2 feel easy. We got pg on our own with #1 (after an HSG test) but it took 14 cycles. For me IUI and quick and easy. I am not sure I would want to mess around with hormones and such too much unless it was needed as in cases of IVF.

YES! I was on that in combination with my egg stimulating medications (for IVF), although I've never heard of it given on it's own. I'd give it a try though before moving on to IUI.

i've also heard that you can take robitussin it helps thin the mucus down there. i took it for like 2 weeks and was shocked when i had some serious heartburn. took a pregnancy test and came back postive. good luck though!
